UPDATE - OVER 30 DAYS AND NO BED BUGS SURVIVED!
I discovered bed bugs in my home. Instead of a general exterminator, I thought a company named Affordable Bed Bug Exterminator must specialize in the problem. I was right. From my first telephone call answered by Doug through the exterminating process, where the gentleman was kind enough to turn out all the lights when he left, I am 💯 % pleased.
Discovering a colony at 430 am freaked me out and despite knowing better, I still felt like I was at fault. Growing up there was a stigma in having bed bugs. I started researching what to do and quickly decided I needed a professional. Doug answered the phone. He reassured me and made me feel less disgusted with myself. He answered all my questions from how could this happen to me to details on each chemical being used. He advised they have done over 5000 homes, that long-term experienced people make a difference in getting rid of bed bugs, that legally I didn't have to tell neighbors but to check my HOA rules, and that he could have someone exterminate my place the next day. The only prep work I had to do was stripping my beds and packing up those linens to take somewhere with a dryer. Based on my description, my infestation was moderate. The cost of $600 was less than I expected. Their success rate averages 95% as some bugs have developed resistance to some chemicals. Following the 30 days, if I saw them still active, I could get a 2nd treatment with a 4th kind of chemical for $150, which then was 99% effective. I made an appointment.
The gentleman showed up on time. His vehicle did not advertise the company, preventing any embarrassment. He examined my home, listened to my history, explained the process, advised he has 15 years of experience with hed bugs, and explained not to breathe the stuff for 2 hours and then stay out 5 hours to give time for the chemicals to dry, I can sweep but no washing the floors or objects/areas treated so as not to remove the chemicals which continue to work up to 30 days. The process kills the bed bugs in all stages, destroys the eggs, is tracked back to nests, and creates a barrier so they don't visit my neighbors. Furniture would be moved away from walls and chairs, and mattresses, and couches upended. Baseboards, closets, drapes, and outlets were all treated.
When I came home, all the above was true. Took me a half hour to put things back in place and restore cushions, couch, chairs, and beds. I have not seen any bed bugs since the treatment yesterday, but he had explained we might see some in the next 10 days but they would be lethargically headed back to their nests (we want them to do so.).
Info for everyone. My grandchild had bites a couple of months ago. I slept in her bed and no bites. We thought she just had a stronger reaction to mosquitos. We didn't realize it was bed bugs until my partner was bitten and we saw a few bugs and the signs listed on the Internet. HALF THE POPULATION DOES NOT HAVE A REACTION TO BED BUG BITES. They were still biting me. I just didn't know it.
In 30 days I hope to update this with complete success. I know it's a long review but I am sure many have never been faced with this experience and probably have the same initial shock wondering what to do.

Thank goodness I was not infested with bedbugs. But we did find some. When they said we will get them I was a Little skeptical. But my goodness not seeing anything. Nobody has been bitten and it’s been almost 30 days. Still about 2 weeks left of the 30 days. But yet again I was not infested that bad. Every case is different. But I think for my case case closed. They guaranteed their work and they lived by it gave me a lot of knowledge too, on what to look for. Thank you so much because I have a special needs son. I can’t be having pest running my house.
